Molecular and Cellular Engineering

Combining engineering with cell and molecular biology approaches to unravel disease mechanisms and identify novel therapeutic approaches.

Molecular and cellular engineers study cells to improve tests and treatments. They use multidisciplinary and multi-scale strategies that combine advanced high resolution imaging, biophysics, microfabrication, genetic modifications, protein engineering and quantitative modeling to analyze and manipulate cell and molecular dynamics and interactions.

Our world-class experts and facilities, including the Cornell NanoScale Science & Technology Facility, the Cornell Center for Immunology, the Biotechnology Resource Center, the Cornell Physical Science Oncology Center, and the top ranked Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine and medical school, Weill Cornell Medicine, create an ideal environment for research in this area.

The faculty researchers in this area exemplify the collaborative nature of the work done at Cornell Engineering.
