Minors

We offer two minors for students who wish to complement their major with a background in civil and environmental engineering. Students who complete a minor must take three classes and at least nine credit hours that are distinct and separate from their Major requirements.

    Engineering Management Minor

The engineering management minor focuses on giving engineering students a basic understanding of engineering economics, accounting, statistics, project management methods, and analysis tools necessary to manage technical operations and projects effectively. The minor provides an important set of collateral skills for students in any engineering discipline.  Students in all Majors may participate in this minor.

    Smart Cities Minor

The smart cities minor equips engineering students to use sensors, smart devices, real-time data, and AI for designing and controlling dynamic infrastructure systems. It combines technical civil engineering skills with knowledge of the environment, climate change, technology, and data science to help engineer future smart cities.
