Can I apply for consideration for Spring Admission?
No. We accept applications for consideration for Fall Admission only.

What are the minimum requirements all Electrical and Computer Engineering Ph.D. applicants are expected to meet?
- GPA of 3.5 or above
- Foreign Nationals: English Language Proficiency Minimum Requirements
- TOEFL: 20-Reading, 20-Writing, 15-Listening, 22-Speaking
- IELTS: overall band score of 7.0 or higher
- Applicants whose scores fall below the minimum requirements will not be considered for admission.

Can I update my materials after I have submitted my application?
Yes, but only if it is absolutely necessary. Send your requests via email to the Assistant Director of Graduate Studies: ece-phd@cornell.edu

Will Electrical and Computer Engineering keep me informed of my application status?
No, we will not acknowledge the receipt of your application or the completion of your materials. You can check the status of your materials yourself by logging into your online application and reviewing your check list.
We will only contact all applicants whose materials are incomplete one time, via email before the end of December.

How will I receive my admission results?
If you are selected for admission to the Electrical and Computer Engineering Ph.D. program, you will receive an offer letter via email. Offer letters are typically sent on a rolling basis, starting at the beginning of February.

Can I defer my admission to the Electrical and Computer Engineering Ph.D. program?
Deferral requests are handled on a case by case basis. A request must be submitted in detailed writing via email to the Assistant Director of Graduate Studies: ece-phd@cornell.edu.
