Anastasia Bizyaeva, who joins Cornell after completing a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Washington’s AI Institute in Dynamic Systems, is a rising leader in the study of autonomous systems and multi-agent control. Her research explores how collective intelligence – found in both biological and social systems – can inform the design of artificial intelligence and autonomous teams in engineering applications.
Bizyaeva’s work combines dynamical systems theory and data-driven modeling to develop new approaches for modeling and controlling complex, multi-agent systems. Her interdisciplinary research has applications in robotics, machine learning and systems biology, and she frequently collaborates with experts across a wide range of fields.
“My research draws inspiration from nature to design intelligent, coordinated systems that can work together to solve complex problems,” Bizyaeva explains. “Cornell’s collaborative culture and strong focus on AI make it the perfect place to explore new frontiers in this exciting field.”
