About

Cornell was founded in 1865 by Ezra Cornell, and less than 10 years later the Sibley College of Mechanic Arts began offering a four-year Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering. In the 150 years since, Cornell and the Sibley School have played a leading role in the teaching, research and application of mechanical engineering.
