Our M.Eng. program in mechanical engineering allows you to study the things you want to learn more about. Working with an advisor, you determine a focus, you choose your classes, and you help shape your M.Eng. project. We have been teaching mechanical engineering for more than 150 years and we have gotten pretty good at it.
An Applied Professional Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
-
Freedom to Create Your Own Plan of Study
We work with you to define your goals and build a program to attain them. Our faculty research and our project partners represent a broad swath of topics and specialities in the field of mechanical engineering and your course choices can take full advantage of this breadth.
-
Choose Your Focus
You will work with your advisor to determine a focus for your program. Your focus area is usually built around one of our concentration areas – but is not restricted by them.
-
Applicable Coursework
Technical courses are taken to add depth (or breadth); building the knowledge needed to advance in your chosen area. Engineering tool courses are taken to provide skills for specific applications. Professional development courses are taken to enhance leadership skills, learn systems engineering, or gain exposure to entrepreneurship, to name a few of the many choices.

Your M.Eng. Project
Your M.Eng. Project adds applied real-world experience to your portfolios. These projects allow you an opportunity to leverage your new and learned subject matter to highlight who you are as an engineer.
