Biography

David Hartino, ’10, ‘15 David has worked for the Sibley School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering since 2010 and is currently the Interim Director for Undergraduate Instructional Labs supporting classes in System Dynamics, Solid Mechanics, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Mechatronics, and Wind Power as well as design and research projects for undergraduate and graduate students. David spent over 16 years in the construction industry and has held a Master Electrician’s License in the City of Utica, NY, was licensed in Contractor Business Law and as an Electrician in the State of Tennessee, and is still currently a licensed Master Electrician in the City of Rochester, NY. During this time, he also taught electrical classes for Monroe County BOCES serving both continuing education and trade apprentice students. In addition to working for MAE in Lab Support, for ten years David worked as a consultant to the National Institute of Aerospace as a Virtual Universe Administrator supporting educational programs serving the Virginia Beach School District, NASA’s Nationwide RealWorld/InWorld Design Challenge and the New York Hall of Science. David holds a BS and M. Eng in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell as well as AS degrees in General Studies (concentration in mathematics) and Engineering Science from Monroe Community College. He also holds Journeyman credentials from his trades apprenticeship. In his [copious] spare time, David enjoys roller skating with his wife and daughter as well as hiking and canoeing.
