Biography

Eda Celik joined the Smith School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering in the summer of 2024. She received her B.S. (2001), M.S. (2003), and Ph.D. (2008) degrees from the Department of Chemical Engineering, Middle East Technical University, Turkey. During her Ph.D. studies, she spent a year (2005-2006) at the University of Manchester, Faculty of Life Sciences, working with Prof. Stephen G. Oliver. From 2009 to 2011, she worked as a postdoctoral associate at Cornell University, under the mentorship of Prof. Matthew DeLisa. She then joined Hacettepe University in Turkey and was promoted to associate professor in 2020 at the Department of Chemical Engineering, also affiliated with the Bioengineering Division at the Institute of Science. She has received the EU Marie-Curie Career Integration Grant (2012) and the UNESCO-L’Oréal National Fellowship for Young Women in Science (2014).
