Biography
Lauren Simpson joined the College of Engineering’s Alumni Affairs and Development team as a Major Gift Associate in December 2023. In her role, she supports the Associate Dean for Alumni Affairs and Development, Director of Development, and the college’s four Major Gift Officers. Simpson began her career at Cornell in 2019 as an assistant director of athletic communications before joining the marketing communications team at Cornell’s Center for Regional Economic Advancement in 2022.
Prior to Cornell, Simpson received her bachelor’s degree in communications and media arts from Bethany College in Bethany, West Virginia where she played collegiate basketball. She went on to earn her master’s degree in sport management from Illinois State University.
Outside of work, Simpson remains an avid sports fan and plays recreational softball in the summer. A native of Washington, Pennsylvania, she enjoys discovering the Finger Lakes region and exploring the local wine trails. She resides in Brooktondale, New York with her Australian Shepherd, Pip.
