Biography
Sam started her career at Cornell in 2016 in Student & Campus Life and joined the College of Engineering in 2023. After playing a whole lot of soccer, leading hundreds of campus tours while walking backwards, and earning her B.S. in Neurobiology from the University of Kansas (home of the Jayhawks, a unique mascot), she went to Southern Illinois University – Carbondale (home of the Salukis, another unique mascot) to earn an M.S.Ed. in College Student Personnel. Originally from London, Sam was shaped by experiences at the world’s greatest Girl Scout camp in the Missouri Ozarks and internships near Boston and in northern California. She loves hiking in the Mighty Five National Parks of southern Utah, and she’s passionate about mental health and intersectional environmental justice, having spent six years as the residence hall director for Cornell’s Ecology House. She now supports MS and PhD MAE students as they navigate their overlapping academic, professional, and personal lives.
