Systems engineering is an interdisciplinary field that provides students with the knowledge and skills to design and implement successful systems. It focuses on defining customer needs and required functionality early in the development cycle, documenting requirements, then proceeding with design synthesis and system validation while considering the complete life-cycle problem. Systems engineering integrates all the disciplines and specialty groups into a team effort, forming a structured development process that proceeds from concept to production to operation. Systems engineering considers both the business and the technical needs of all customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the user’s needs.

Curriculum
- The degree requires 30 credits of instruction and consists of core and elective courses, as well as a 6-credit project.
- Two one-week, on-campus modules provide the opportunity to have face-to-face contact with other industry professionals and meet the professors, and allows students to complete a significant design challenge all while simultaneously attending the systems leadership laboratory.

The Systems Engineering program will provide degree information and materials that you may share with your interested employees.
