Fall Week: SYSEN 5920—Systems Engineering Management for Virtual Teams 2
This course serves as an introduction to systems engineering leadership, as well as core design principles for all Systems Engineering M.Eng. distance learning students in their first year. During this intensive, 5-day, on-campus course, students are assigned to small groups to compete in a systems-oriented design challenge, while simultaneously participating in a leadership training that encourages self-assessment.

Summer Week: SYSEN 5940—Systems Engineering Management for Virtual Teams 1
This intensive course in systems engineering management emphasizes understanding individual creativity and organizational innovation, and on developing the required systems engineering leadership skills to foster both. Each day is filled with interactive sessions, team-building activities, and time spent developing solutions to design challenge and session development activities. Students will also develop educational materials and presentations focused on highlighting the course’s learning objectives and aiding fellow classmates towards these objectives.
Optional Pathways to Enhance Your Degree
Tailor your electives to pursue an official pathway in either Energy Systems or Health Systems Engineering, or to design your own pathway. The degree requirements for each pathway differs from the general M.Eng. in Systems Engineering only in the choice of elective courses.
