Haas paper noted by Google Scholar as top 10 most cited since 2006

A paper by ECE Emeritus Professor Zygmunt J. Haas and co-authored by Computer Science Professor Joseph Y. Halpern and his student Li Li has been cited by Google Scholar as a top 10 most cited paper since 2006. 

The paper, "Gossip-based ad hoc routing" is referred to as "classic papers," which are highly-cited papers in their area of research that have stood the test of time. For each area, Google lists the ten most-cited articles that were published during the prior ten years.

Haas's article is listed under the area of Engineering and Computer Science and the research field Computer Networks and WIreless Communication.

Google Scholar's list of classic papers includes articles that presented new research, to the extent their indexing system is able to automatically determine. It specifically excludes review articles, introductory articles, editorials, guidelines, commentaries, etc. It also excludes articles with fewer than 20 citations and, for now, is limited to articles written in English.

This release of classic papers consists of articles that were published in 2006 and is based on Google's index as it was in May 2017. Classic papers can be browsed by selecting one of the broad areas and then select the specific research field of interest.
