Financial Aid for Ph.D. Students
As a Ph.D. student in the College of Engineering, you will likely receive full support throughout your studies. Financial aid is available in the form of fellowships, teaching assistantships and research assistantships through the Graduate School, the college, the graduate fields and Cornell research centers.
Many engineering Ph.D. students are also recipients of prestigious non-Cornell awards. Competitive external fellowships are honors and can distinguish recipients when they enter the job market. We provide a searchable database through the Graduate School, and we strongly encourage you to seek further help and advice from your field’s Director of Graduate Studies. A workshop on external fellowships is offered to all new and second-year Ph.D. students during orientation.
